The exception is the province of Pesaro and Urbino, where regional belonging is weaker (78%). Supporting this, some respondents from Pesaro admit, with some bitterness, to feeling more like \u201cfailed Romagnols.\u201d The sense of belonging to Europe is weaker but still involves more than half of the sample, rising to 66% among students, the more educated, and those living in the larger cities of Marche.
