Which part of Italy is the Marche region in?

Marche is a region of central Italy with 1,569,303 inhabitants and its capital is Ancona. It borders Emilia-Romagna (province of Rimini), the Republic of San Marino, Tuscany (province of Arezzo), Umbria (province of Perugia), Lazio (province of Rieti), Abruzzo (province of Teramo), and the Adriatic Sea.

Marche is located on the central Adriatic side and covers about 9,365.86 km² of Italian territory stretching from the Conca River in the north to the Tronto River in the south; to the west, the region is bounded by the Apennines. It has a distinctive irregular pentagon shape and develops mainly longitudinally from northwest to southeast. A mountainous area is formed by the Umbrian-Marchigiano Apennines.
