Whether you like it or not, they are indisputably YOUR parents.Memmeta is the life coach before the term existed: she raised you with anxieties and caresses, taught you to walk, and still tells you to “put on a jacket, it’s cold,” even on August 15. Unconditional love sprinkled with endless worries.
Babbetu, on the other hand, is the philosopher of leisure. Part tinkerer, part preacher, he collects phrases that always start with: “Back in my day…” He is the family fixer: if something breaks, Babbetu fixes it. If nothing breaks, he’ll tell you how “things used to be done better.”
We translated Tua Mamma and Tuo Padre as:
- Your mom. The original life coach: loves you, worries for you, and still tells you to wear a jacket in August.
- Your dad. Part-time philosopher, full-time fixer. Master of “when I was your age…” speeches.
