Le(s) Friche
The Word – “Friche” is a word from the Marche dialect (spoken around the provinces of Macerata and Fermo) used to refer to young girls and children. But it is more than just a nickname: it speaks of character, liveliness, and a certain local cleverness.
The Landscape – In the Marche region, friche are the stars of village squares and courtyards: curious, sharp-minded, and independent. The word carries affection and irony, while also acknowledging a strong personality from an early age. It is a fragment of everyday life turned into language.
The Translation – Le(s) Friche – C’est Chic.
The Play on Words – The dialect term meets pop culture and becomes a mash-up: from Marche dialect to 1970s disco. A direct nod to “Le Freak, C’est Chic,” transforming the friche into contemporary icons suspended between global glamour and local folklore.
The Visual Interpretation – The graphic design plays with dynamic lettering built through positive and negative space, creating rhythm and movement, enriched by floral accents that add lightness and a playful decorative touch. At the center stands the protagonist: the “frica,” a chic and contemporary character, confident and effortlessly on trend. She embodies the spirit of young girls — lively, independent, and stylish — turning a village word into a visual icon where irony, fashion, and identity meet.
