“It’s Nothing” – three villages, three unique spaces

Non è Niente - It's Nothing

Dialect becomes widespread art across the villages of the Marche

Three villages, three unique spaces, three different ways of telling Marchigian identity through words.

With “Non è Niente – Installations and Routes in the Villages of the Marche,” Marche Love – WhatYouSay takes dialect out of books and into the streets, turning it into a manifesto, a provocation, and shared urban art.

The project, independent and self-funded, brings together two creative generations connected by their love for their land, with the aim of restoring value to the Marchigian dialect as a living fragment of collective memory.

The installations are composed of posters and dialect words, subtitled in English with deliberately ironic translations: a linguistic and artistic game that opens the project to an international audience. Alongside the posters, blank panels invite the community to leave their own dialect word or expression, enriching the participatory archive of Marche Love – WhatYouSay.

August stops

  • August 23 – Penna San Giovanni (De Gustibus Festival) The route begins between Parco Monte and the alleys of the historic center, where the installation will inhabit the village for an entire day.

  • August 31 – Pioraco, Municipal Cloister Opening at 5:30 PM with the patronage of the Municipality and in collaboration with Artium Universitas. Followed by the round table “Non è niente: the hidden meaning of words,” with guests from the worlds of art, psychology, design, and theatre.

🎯 Why we do it

We believe dialects are not just sounds, but traces of life and collective identity. With “Non è Niente,” we aim to transform everyday language into a shared artwork, where art, design, and community intertwine to preserve and renew the cultural identity of the Marche.
